THE SHOW

 songs & stories & multi-media

"Live from Laurel Canyon - Songs and Stories of American Folk Rock" is a 90 minute retrospective of music and stories of some of the most influential artists who lived in Laurel Canyon between 1965 and 1975.   Similar to other legendary rock and roll neighborhoods of the same era like Haight Ashbury in San Fransisco or Greenwich Village in the NYC, Laurel Canyon was a community of artists who would forge new genres of music (Folk Rock) and forever change the look, sound and attitude of American pop music.   Bands like The Mamas and The Papas, the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Doors, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, James Taylor, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, America, and the Eagles.

"Live from Laurel Canyon’ was one of the most successful concerts ever presented at Desert Mountain. Brian Chartrand, Khani Cole and the musicians overwhelmed the soldout crowd. The positive member response in the days that followed is a true testament to this amazing show and production!"

-- J. Baird

Director of Events, Desert Mountain Golf Inc. /Scottsdale, AZ

"Opening our seventh season of Guitar Masters, we thought it would be a welcome change to invite Live From Laurel Canyon for a show – at the world-famous Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace, no less!  The music and stories brought back so many memories from the more than 400 fans that night.  Above that, the band could not have been more pleasant and accommodating.  True professionals who know their audience and definitely know how to please!  Looking forward to hosting LfLC again in the future.”

-- Rick Kreiser, GuitarMasters.org, Bakersfield, CA

"Tight harmonies and  inside stories from folk and rock’s greatest era separate Live from Laurel Canyon from other tribute bands…"

-- Rusty Young, MusicWorks, Vero Beach, FL

"Live From Laurel Canyon" was a beautiful show. The arrangements and the vocal harmonies and blend were remarkable and stunning. And the history of the artists and songs was fascinating. Looking forward to having you perform here again."
